Panic due to the rising COVID-19 cases and its impact on the economy & industrial sector has lead to a massive return of Oriya Migrant Laborers from Maharashtra & Gujarat.
Around 5 lakh migrant oriya workers are employed in textile & in various small manufacturing units. Due to the slowdown in the small production units in Mumbai and increase in unemployment, these laborers are returning back to their home towns.
On 19th May, 2020, 1500 Oriya migrants laborers were served Hot Khichdi Meals at the railway station when they were returning back to Orissa at 9 a.m.
Ratna Nidhi, in partnership with DP's Kitchen has been serving these daily wage earners on a daily basis with Hot Nutrious Khichdi Packets. Now you too can get involved. Watch Video
