If you are (or do you know) a disabled person who has achieved something in your life showing indomitable spirit and courage and tenacity in spite of difficulties, we welcome you to apply / nominate for the M.G. Mehta Human Spirit Award.

The award aims to honour the spirit in the individuals who have proved that their disability is not a barrier in achieving their dreams, dreams that sometimes even normal human beings cannot achieve.

The award ceremony will be held on 3rd December 2016, it being World Disability Day. 

The award:

  1. A plaque that will be handed by a prestigious dignitary
  2. A cash Award
  3. A platform to tell your story to an audience comprising of business people, entrepreneurs, donors/philanthropists, CEOs of Multinationals and many charitable organizations as well as senior bureaucrats.
  4. A chance to network and connect with funders and supporters.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applications are open for Differently abled person.
  2. The remarkable feat achieved must be on or after December 2010
  3. The applicant / nominee must be an individual and not a company, organization or group of any nature.

Previous Awardees :

The inaugural M.G. Mehta Human Spirit Award 2015 was presented to Padma Shree Awardee of 2015 Ms. Arunima Sinha who in spite of being an amputee, wearing an artificial leg, climbed the Mount Everest in 2013, the first Indian lady to have achieved this remarkable feat.

The Award was presented at the hands of Padma VIbhushan Shri Ratan Tata.
