I am UMAR BASHU SHAIKH who has been volunteering with you since 29th March to 7th June 2020 in the Khichdi Meals distribution program as a response to COVID – 19. With the help of Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust’s kitchens, I have been able to distribute 2000 ‘Khichdi meals’ to daily wage earners, migrants, stray dogs and needy in society across Mumbai. I have seen first hand how efficiently Ratnanidhi has been handling the massive logistics & coordination to operate kitchens in various parts of Mumbai and distributing nutritious Khichdi meals to thousands of migrant workers & daily wagers. When I had enquired with Ratnanidhi, about possible help to be extended to a migrant group of 100 out-of-job workers at Shivajinagar Bainganwadi , they immediately sprung into action and connected me with their Program Coordinators managing the ditribution at Chembur and from next day onwards started providing Khichdi lunch to this group! I was also amazed by their proactive thought of later on providing Face Shields to those distributing the meals within the containment areas/slum areas. So when I received a mail from Ratnanidhi about supporting their Campaign, I was more than happy to chip in to help Ratnanidhi in a very small way for this Meal Distribution Project. Kudos to the selflessly committed group of Cooks, Kitchen team, delivery team, coordination team & volunteers who have galvanized into action from day 1 to serve our city amidst this crisis!
